5 Simple Ways to De-stress

We all react differently to stress; whether we reach out to bottle of wine, unnecessary spending, eating junk food, and so forth. You’ll agree that there are not healthy and not a sensible way to react to stress. So here are few ways to help yourself de-stress and stay calm.

Drink lots of water. Instead of reaching out to wine, concentrated juice or soda, but reach out for water. Water will not only keep you hydrated and feel energized but also help you clear you mind. It will keep both your body and mind nourished.

Put those electronics away. Looking at screen all day, every day – reading those emails, checking Facebook page, and so forth can make you tired. Take few hours from your day to stay away from your phone, laptop, tablet and other electronic devices.  Instead, enjoy the moment by enjoying what’s happening around you – take a walk outside and enjoy the nature, look at the sky, breathe in the fresh air, talk to your neighbor, go for a walk, or bake something special.


Take a short nap. Naps are not just for kids, it’s also very beneficial for adults. Taking a short nap helps your body and mind to relax for few minutes.  This will help you feel more energized.


Avoid multi-tasking. Sometimes doing too many things at once can trigger stress. So the best way to combat this situation is to work on one task at a time. This way you will feel more productive and get more done.

Be grateful for what you have. Being happy with what you have will help you enjoy your life more. You will feel confident with what you have and will stop comparing yourself to others.  Appreciate your talents, your loved ones and the support you have around you.

So these are very simple and FREE ways to de-stress which just requires some time out of your busy schedules and dedication.
