7 Simple Pleasures That Don’t Cost Anything But Time
Time has a unique way of showing us what really matters or what we really need. Work, home, school, kids, family commitments, don’t we already have enough to do. We wish there were more hours in a day and could do more. Time is precious and we need to make the best of it.
Trying to get everything done in a day, I noticed I hardly had time to do anything for me. I didn’t have time to exercise, was paying attention to my diet – just grabbed whatever was easy to cook (microwave).
I realized later that this is not the way I want to live my life. I want to enjoy my life like everyone else. My first approach to this was taking a walk everyday to the park and I felt in love with it. At the park not only was I able to enjoy the nature, but also meet people and make friends. Life is filled with simple pleasures which can be celebrated in your own unique way.
Here are 7 simple pleasures to enjoy starting today:
Take a Walk
Taking a walk benefits us in many ways. Not only does it keep us healthy but also allows us to enjoy the nature. Whether it’s soaking in the sunshine, breathing in fresh air or just relaxing, walks can lead you to a healthy lifestyle.

According to studies laughing is very good for you. Laugh with your loved ones – they’ll feel good too. Watch funny movies or share jokes – laughing out loud will help you open up and enjoy that moment. Laughing out loud relaxes mind and lessens stress as well.

Enjoy Beautiful Views
Take a scenic drive and enjoy the beautiful views. The green vegetation, wild flowers, lake, mountains – these will help you feel so relaxed.
Read a Good Book
Visit your local library and borrow some good books. Sit down with a cup of coffee or tea and just relax and read. You will find this pretty enjoyable.

Sharing experiences with your loved one or your close friends can strengthen your relationship with them. Sharing some memorable moments from the past will also help them know you better. Sharing family stories can help your family members connect to generations and personal history.

This is one of my favorite. Smiling is an easy way to communicate with others. Smiling at others can make them feel better and happy. When you see someone smile at you, you smile too. Smile at your loved ones, your work colleagues, your friends and relatives. Remember there is a gain here – you will get a smile too.
Saying “I Love You”
These words can help someone feel so special, happy, loved and connected. When you say these words, say it in a way that you really mean what you are saying. These are very powerful words and an effective way to show how much you care for the other and how much they mean to you.

These are seven simple things you can start doing today and all it costs is TIME. Make time to do simple things that bring love and happiness in your life and in those around you. It’s never too late to start.
