Blogging Tips for New Bloggers

July 25, 2018

Are you new to blogging?

Even though, I’ve been blogging for a while, it is an area where you’re learning new things all the time.

If you do not have a blog yet and want to start one, here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to start your blog.

I’ve learnt a lot since I’ve started blogging.  There are things that I wished I’ve done in the beginning, but we learn from our mistakes.

Here’s a list of tips for new bloggers.

Plan It

Consider your blog as a project. You need a plan to make it successful.  A plan will guide you and assist you with making the right choices and completing the tasks.

What is it that you are trying to achieve with your blog?  Is your goal to solve a problem for your readers?  What type of problem?  What are your short-term and long-term goals?

These are the things that you need to know about your blog in the beginning. Having a plan for your blog will help you accomplish your goals easier plus you’ll have more fun blogging.

Our Ultimate Planner will help you set your goals, mission statement, and includes other tools to help you grow your blog!

Find a Niche That You Love to Talk About

To write an engaging article, you need to love what you’re writing about.  Many bloggers only focus on monetizing their blog instead of their passion.

Passion is something that keeps you excited.  Helps you come up with creative ways to grow your blog.

You need to write about topics that you know about.  Blogging is a way to showcase your creativity and get your voice out there.

Use Your Blog to Solve a Problem

Having a well written post is not enough.  An article needs to solve a problem for your readers. Are you able to connect with your readers, able to educate them?

Write articles that helps your readers.  This will make them come back to your site for more solutions.

Plus, this will help boost your blog, readers will share your posts with others, they will follow you on social media plus comment more.

Create a win-win situation for both – you and your audience.

Build Your Brand

Create your own style of blogging – meaning your personality, your voice, your graphics, that you want to share with your audience.

For example, if your blog is about kids, use bright colors for your blog and other visual elements that showcases what your blog is all about. Create a cheerful impression.

Branding also includes logo and look and feel of your blog.  Use a logo that goes with color and theme of your blog.

Set a Schedule

Making time to blog is very important and should be included in your schedule. It can be difficult if you have little kids and family to take care of.

But to keep your readers engaged, it’s important to provide them with fresh or new ideas or articles.

Set a schedule to write your posts.  A post planner is the best tool for this.

Use Your Social Media Channels

In the beginning, we end up signing up with social media channels that you don’t really need for your blog or you don’t have time to post on that channel.

Select the social media channels that you’re comfortable working with.  You don’t need to sign up with all of them. Even if you select 3 or 4 channels you should be good.  The idea is to make good use of it. Be consistent and post regularly just like you post your articles on your blog.

Don’t overdo it by signing up with all social media channels in the beginning.  Take your time – explore first and research tips and ideas on how to make best use of it.

Use our Social Media Planner to stay on top of your social media tasks.

Make Your Graphics Attractive

I realized how important graphics are when it comes to blogging. Along with great content, graphics also attract interest and attention.

You can create your own graphics or take your own photos or purchase stock photos from sites like Etsy.

Images or graphics make it easier to understand information or keeps the reader engaged to the article.

Take it Easy

Think of blogging as a journey. You’ll learn many things as you blog. Things that work and things that don’t work.

The idea is to keep improving, keep it growing and enjoying every part of blogging.

We’ve all learnt from our mistakes.  Research and reach out to experts for ideas and tips. There are so many resources online to help you make your blogging experience successful.

Conclusion

Blogging is not difficult but with proper planning, by setting posting schedule, using attractive graphics or images, writing about things you love to talk about, creating your own brand or style, by helping others and enjoying your blogging journey, you can end up with a successful blog.

It takes hard work but results will be quite amazing!
