The amazing platform that can help you make your dreams come true is no other than Etsy.

It’s FREE to join and easy to start a shop.

It’s very affordable. To get an item listed you just need $0.20!

Etsy takes care of Etsy payments. Your sales will be deposited in your bank account in your local currency.

Etsy offers Seller Protection – meaning if a buyer files a case, it protects your funds if the transaction was paid via Etsy Payments. Also, if a buyer is does not receive their purchased items, or if the items are different from the description, Etsy encourages those buyers to contact you first (via Conversations).

You can sell any handmade items that are made and or designed by you. You can sell as a retailer or a wholesaler.

Etsy Marketplace and Etsy Studio

There are two ways you can sell via Etsy: Marketplace and Studio.

Marketplace is where you can sell your handmade goods, vintages goods and craft supplies.

Studio is more of inspiring… sellers sell craft supplies with which buyers can create DIY projects. If someone is looking for unusual or hard to find DIY items then Etsy Studio would most likely have those supplies.

Etsy Wholesale

You can also sell your products at wholesale. Your products can be accessed by over 20,000 retailers plus you get to decide who you want to work with.

Again, it’s simple to setup your wholesale shop, you upload your product photos, set the prices, add the description and publish! Promote your shop to potential buyers and make sales!

Why Buyers Love Etsy?

Buyers want the best for their money.  They want to make sure items they are buying is what they’ve wanted or needed. Buyers want to be able to find unique items more easily.

How to Market, Brand and Promote Your Etsy Shop

Etsy knows how important it is to market your business, create a brand and promote…the more the people know about your shop, more the sales you’ll get.

Here’s what Etsy is suggesting:

SEO.  Just like any other business, your Etsy shop also needs to be optimized for Search Engine Search like Google.

When you go to Etsy.com, there is a search box, which buyers use to search for products they are looking for.  For example, when I enter unicorn, I get the following list:

Sales and Coupons. Buyers love to visit shops with sales, coupons or any other special offers. Run a sale by providing free shipping for a period, maybe during off peak season – for example, if you are selling something that people use during winter – knitted scarfs – you can offer free shipping or discounts so you still make sales during spring or summer.

Send offers to interested buyers.   Buyers who have favorited your items or added to their carts but haven’t made a purchase yet.

Advertise with Etsy.  Etsy offers two paid advertising options; Promoted Listings which will help you promote your products within relevant search results on Etsy.com and Google Shopping which you use to promote your products in Google search results.

You can manage both options from your Advertising dashboard.
